Oppo is it professional for a professor to berate your class and students constantly through verbal usage and constant barages of emails? Or to suspect all of the class is copying homework and changes the exam last minute after spending the last class saying the exact problems on the exam. I really don’t know what to do. In the years I have been a student, I haven’t encountered a situation like this or feel comfortable.

I don’t know if it’s professional or not, but considering you’re basically paying half their salary, I’d speak up if it bothers you.

Dept advisor says drop course since professor has tenure and they can’t do much (bullshit answer).
Professor doesn’t like questions or interactions.

Fuck tenure. This is the type of shit that happens.

Yes, that’s unprofessional. It’s a dick move, but I suppose they’re entitled to change the test. The other stuff makes them an asshole. Talk to the department head or with other students. I dropped an elective course once because the prof was a shithead, it was worth it.

See my reply to hondabro, people have tried already with various other professors as well with no avail. I studied for various days and pulled all nighters just to get slapped across the face with this exam I flunked.

Tenure!

Tenure doesnt matter much when rules are being broken. Seek advice from a department head in as neutral a way as possible, and if that doesnt get you anywhere, go to a Dean or send a neutral email to the president of the college including the situation, current advice given, and your concerns about your needs.
A line that always got me places wither higher ups at college was “as a paying customer, I expect my voice to be heard.” It hits home very hard with them, and they will struggle with how to respond, but this is your education we’re talking about, not a fancy dinner or a movie. You pay a lot of money to go there, and expecting to be treated with respect is normally a campus policy applicable to all, not just students, but faculty and guests as well.
